In 1957 Vogue Dolls introduced their hard plastic, 10 1/2" fashion, teenage doll as Ginny and Ginnette's big sister. Those created in 1957 carry the mark on their back like this doll that states: Jill/Vogue Dolls/Made in U.S.A./C. 1957. The Jill dolls created later included "INC." within their mark. These earliest Jill's have a slightly different coloring.
Jill is considered a "Bent Knee Walker." This Jill's is quite flexible. Her knees bend as they should and this Jill can also sit well which some can no longer do. Her pretty blue eyes are "sleep eyes" and open and close on their own. Her lovely brunette hair is in the angel cut and she still has a barrette on either side. She can stand on her own when carefully positioned but will come with a stand for safer display.
She comes with two Excellent Outfits! Jill's #7408 from 1957 is a brown skirt with matching cape and pill box cap. The elastic strap on her hat has been replaced due to wear. The elastic of her skirt is in fine condition and her skirt still snaps and fits nicely. Her original cummerbund velvet belt is still with her and snaps perfectly. The outfit includes a tagged silky lighter brown blouse, and matching panties, as well as a tan colored slip. All are in great condition.
Jill is wearing sparkling rhinestone earrings that coordinate with the rhinestones on her original black strappy sandals. The elastic straps of one of her heels was a bit stretched and a tuck was sewn in the elastic to tighten it. The other remains taut as it is.
Jill's second outfit also comes from the year this Jill was made (1957) and was numbered #7410. This outfit includes tagged black velvet toreador pants with a red satin waist and a white ruffled blouse that is trimmed in lace and decorated with rhinestones at the cuffs and down the front. This particular blouse still has all of its sparkling rhinestones, is stain free, and has the original bar pin at the collar!
Jill and both of her outfits are in wonderful condition! She lives in a smoke free environment with other members of the Vogue Doll family. Jill and her sister (or friend) Jan had mint green bedroom furniture. Currently a wardrobe is listed and very shortly her vanity and bed will also be listed. Jill is shown in the second photo sitting on her Vanity Bench that is not included here.
