The date of this Victorian photograph is estimated around the late 1800's. After receiving a lot of antique photographs, some of the photos were marked with enough information making it possible to identify this baby whose name was Hugh, and his sister named Catherine, through several years of growth all the way into adulthood. With all of the photographs that were available it was possible to develop a time line of sorts. This baby picture of Hugh would have been taken in the early 1890's. Notice that though this child was a boy, he was dressed in a ruffled night gown ... quite normal during that time period. Most of the pictures of Hugh have sold though I do still have just a few. The oval photograph portion is in Excellent Condition and measures 3 1/2" x 5" . The oval portion is affixed to a heavy cardstock photograph paper that measures 11" x 7 1/2" . The portrait studio's name and address is embossed on the paper as "Dabbs 516 Market St."
**You may wish to see a photograph of an older Hugh with his sister Catherine also available in this shop.
