Replace your sewing basket with this vintage sewing stand.
With two hinged doors on the top, this wooden sewing stand includes an inner tray for those small things like buttons, snaps, thimbles etc... So perhaps you don't sew? The little cabinet can be used for storage of other things.
This piece could be considered in Excellent vintage condition except some enterprising individual began refinishing the top but quit. If you, or someone you know, is handy with refinishing furniture, this would be a small job.
Most of this stand has a glossy dark lacquered finish with minor dings that appear glaring under the scrutiny of the flash. One door has had the lacquer completely removed and only has a dark wood stain (perhaps walnut) while the other door is less than half done with the majority of the lacquer still present leaving this door a bit unsightly. The stand is sturdy with no cracks or breaks found. It measures 22" tall x 12 1/2" wide x 12" front to back (across the top)
On the inside of the cabinet; the divided tray sits on a small inner ledge and is half the size of the opening so that it easily lifts out or can be slid from front to back. The tray measures 11 1/4" x 4 7/8".
The inside measurements of the box itself are; at the top it is 11 1/4" wide by 9 3/4" front to back . It is 8" deep and tapers down inside to 11" wide x 6 1/2" at the bottom.
