Early 1900's Victorian Couple (Illustrated Song Series) PostcardEarly 1900's Victorian Couple (Illustrated Song Series) Postcard

This card is part of an Illustrated Song Series No. 1821. The postcard was made from a real photo and the photograph itself carries a copyright date of 1907. The song lyric beneath the romantic picture: "When I whisper I love you so, won't you say you love me too?--"

The card is unused and uncirculated. There are no bends or creases. There is very light and minimal age related tanning of the back. You may wish to see other cards from this series also available in this shop.

The actual photograph was copyrighted in 1907 by De Witt C. Wheeler (most likely the same De Witt C. Wheeler who copyrighted slides for silent movies in 1909). This card was undoubtedly published by Theodor Eismann (see other Theodor Eismann Illustrated Song Series postcards available in this shop) though this card only carries "Printed in Germany" and not the publisher's name.

The Theodor Eismann publishing and printing company was known for their chromolitho printing process which they often identified as "Theocrome."
