A great wave of Red, White, & Blue Patriotism crossed America in 1976 as the United States celebrated its 200th Birthday. This set of 24 Historic Patriotic Postcards were published in 1976 and sold by the VFW (Veteran's of Foreign Wars) Women's Auxiliary in honor of the Bicentennial year. Most of the cards, however, are not specific to the Bicentennial. Some of the cards feature women in history who were actively involved in the making of our country as well as other historic scenes and items (a few examples are: The Liberty Bell, George Washington, Betsy Ross, Valley Forge and many others. Some cards are duplicated within the set. The book measures 8 3/16" x 4 1/4". Each of the post cards measure 6" x 4 1/4" All of the cards are perforated to tear out and then leave a miniature of the postcard within the booklet. All are in Very Good to Excellent Condition. The outside cover and the first few of the cards have minor bending at the top right corner.
