This milk glass covered dresser box (or dish) from the Victorian era is in Very Good Condition. The straight edges and straight lines within the scroll design gives the antique box a less frilly (perhaps more masculine) appearance than most vanity items from this era. The trinket box still retains much of the original gold and blue cold paint used to highlight the raised decorative lines. The convex top has remnants only of a dark blue floral pattern. The inside rim of the lid and the box are rough which is common from removing and replacing the lid over the years. There is a straw mark (or possibly a scratch) noted in the inner portion of the lid. No cracks are found. Though opaque, the glass has a translucent quality. The milk glass box measures 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/4". A pretty addition to a vanity and a nice place to keep treasured rings or trinkets.
