This antique covered dresser dish (or box) has a lavish molded scroll and lion design. There are a total of eight lion faces that are almost gargoyle like in nature--a Gothic style. Each corner of the top and bottom exhibits the face of the lion with a scrolling pattern along each side and scalloped edge. Cold painted by hand, post production, most of the decorative paint has worn away as is typical of these turn of the century pieces. There is a remnant of what appears to have once been a floral design painted on the top. Though generally considered opaque, the glass has both an opalescent and translucent quality as well. The little box is a pretty addition to a vanity and a nice place to keep treasured rings or trinkets. In overall Very Good Condition, no cracks are found in the glass. There is roughness on the inner ridge of both the top and the box bottom indicating small nicks from removing and replacing the lid over the years.
Including the lid, the decorative glass box measures 4 1/4" long x 2 3/4" wide x 1 7/8" tall at the tallest point.
