Also known as a "refrigerator jug," this utility ware pitcher by Edwin Knowles appeals by simplicity; with the still life fruit design of a pear, apple, plum and blueberries and it's simple lines.
The estimated manufacture history is 1930's to 1940's. The design on this 48 oz. pitcher remains in excellent condition with the pastel colors bright . The pitcher is thick and substantial and offers a broad "ice" lip. There are no chips or nicks noted and no significant crazing. The inside is bright and clean. A very pretty piece. Only one flaw noted; the ridged base shows a small crack as pictured --please see photo.
A lovely piece of history to display. The jug measures 7" tall x 9" wide and 3" across.
