This 1 3/8" clear blue glass brooch is a ravishing sapphire blue with an accent of lighter blue rhinestones. The brooch has an internal star design cut (or molded) deep into the glass. The faceted angular geometric star design makes it appear even deeper than reality. The largest stone is bezel set in a lacy crown like setting with the lighter blue rhinestone accents attached to the outer portion of the bezel. I believe the brooch to be part of a Hobe' carded set that were marked on the card as by "Hobe' Jewels of Legendary Splendor." * (see footnote) These pieces were not always signed. This originally came to me as a demi parure consisting of the brooch and matching earrings. Each of the pieces have a very minimal amount of disturbance to the foil backing of the glass but not enough to change the beauty of the gorgeous set. The earrings have now sold separately so this listing is for the brooch alone.
*Footnote: the matching earrings did not have the accenting rhinestones and appear to be the same as those seen on page 62 of the collector's guide; "Inside the Jewelry Box" which were sold on the card as mentioned.
