The price is for both bowls; a single soup that measures 8" and a single fruit or berry bowl that measures 5 1/4". The berry bowl is in Very Good condition without nicks, chips, or crazing found. The Soup Bowl is in Good Condition but does have a thin flake missing just under the edge (shown in the last photo.)
Johnson Brothers of Staffordshire England, known for their Transferware scenery patterns, manufactured this lovely pink or red pattern featuring a British Castle. This pattern was also manufactured in blue. The castle in the background is surrounded by water while the foreground is a floral scene. The pattern carries a roped and scalloped edge. The pieces are marked "Castle on The Lake" and carry the Johnson Bros name, England, and a patent number. This pattern was manufactured from 1939 to 1970.
