This set of three Bread & Butter or Dessert Plates are in Very Good condition. One of the 6 3/4" plates has a pinpoint nick on the underside of the edge. No other nicks, chips, or crazing are found. Minimal utensil marks are present. The price is for the THREE PLATES.
Johnson Brothers of Staffordshire England, known for their Transferware scenery patterns, manufactured this lovely pink or red pattern featuring a British Castle. This pattern was also manufactured in blue. The castle in the background is surrounded by water while the foreground is a floral scene. The pattern carries a roped and scalloped edge. The pieces are marked "Castle on The Lake" and carry the Johnson Bros name, England, and a patent number. This pattern was manufactured from 1939 to 1970.
