This set of four Homer Laughlin Cup & Saucer Sets are in the Platinum Bands pattern and the Nautilus Shape.
By Homer Laughlin, the Nautilus Shape began production in 1936; a year earlier than Laughlin's "Eggshell Nautilus". The simply "Nautilus" shape dishes are thicker, heavier and handles notably more decorative. This design is noted for it's five bands of platinum or silver trim.
The four cups with their swirling designed handles are in very good to excellent condition. There is very little to no wear noted to their trim. There is very light crazing noted on one of the cups when held up to the light. There are no chips or cracks. The saucers are also without breaks. Each saucer carries the HLC; Homer Laughlin Logo and the date of 1945. There is light wear noted to the trim on the saucers as shown in the photos which actually appears much worse under the magnification of the camera.
