This Rhythm Rose design was used by several manufacturers around the 1940's and 1950's. Besides Homer Laughlin, I have seen this pattern with the shadowed pink blooming rose on dinnerware by Harker, W.S. George and Taylor Smith Taylor. This platter is part of Homer Laughlin's Rhythm shape and also bears the name of The Household Institute as one of the makers marks.
The stamp by the Household Institute likely indicates that have actually applied the centered rose design with smaller rose buds on one of Homer Laughlin's blank platters. The double stamped Platter is in Very Good condition without chips, nicks, or breaks. There are minor utensil marks . The platter has a glossy sheen and measures 13 1/2" x 11". Large enough for an Easter Turkey or a great way to serve your hamburgers and hot dogs at your next cook out.
This platter was manufactured in 1951.
