This Set of Four Dinner / Breakfast / or Luncheon Plates by Homer Laughlin are in Excellent Condition without crazing, stains, nicks, chips, or breaks. The plates are in the Kwaker shape. Please note that the actual measurement of these four plates is 8 1/4". Their finish is glossy and their colors remain bright. As can be expected, there are utensil marks that can be seen mostly when the plates are held at an angle to the light.
Each of the four plates carry the Homer Laughlin mark on the back of the plate. One of these plates was marked incorrectly--which apparently to some collectors makes it unique--the one plate carries the "Virginia Rose" mark when in fact it is the Kwaker shape.
This Poppy & Rose design was introduced by Homer Laughlin in the 1930's and continued in production through the mid-1950's. This pattern is perhaps one of the most popular Laughlin designs beyond their Fiesta. Crooksville China who sometimes purchased the blank pottery from Laughlin, also utilized this design.
