This large round serving bowl is in Excellent Condition! The bright floral design is intact and the finish is still glossy: no chips, nicks, cracks, or crazing. The bowl is almost 3" deep and 8 3/4" wide. It is shown with a soup bowl in the last photo to give perspective of size.
This Poppy & Rose design was introduced by Homer Laughlin in the 1930's and continued in production through the mid-1950's. This large bowl has the Homer Laughlin mark on the bottom. The manufacturer's mark is light but the manufacture year of 1958 can be seen within the code of numbers. This pattern is perhaps one of the most popular Homer Laughlin designs beyond their Fiesta. The design of Orange Poppies, Yellow Roses, and Black Leaves by Homer Laughlin is informally known as "Poppy & Rose" by some collectors, "Olivia" by others, and tagged as "Ivora" by some. Most pieces in this pattern were made in the Kwaker shape.
