This popular Homer Laughlin Pink Rose Pattern is usually referred to as Moss Rose though sometimes found under Calirose or Calarose. The centered blooming pink rose with rosebud is complemented by the pastel pink trim at their edge.
These four plates actually carry a second mark in gold with the "Moss Rose" name which is not a typical find and adds to their collectible value. The gold mark also indicates that these were sold by Sears & Roebuck. The original Homer Laughlin mark on each of the plates indicate that they were manufactured in 1941.
All FOUR of these dinner plates are in Very Good to Excellent Condition. They are without chips, breaks, or crazing. The plates have their glossy finish and the central blooming pink rose and rosebud design remains intact. There are occasional light utensil marks and light signs of use. This lovely rose pattern is just like Laughlin's Pink Organdy pattern, also in the Swing shape, with the addition of the pretty pink rose in the center.
These four Dinner Plates are 9 1/4" each and are in Homer Laughlin's Eggshell 1940's Swing shape. The Swing Shape is from Homer Laughlin's Eggshell line. The Eggshell dishes were created as thinner, more elegant dinnerware (more like china) than Laughlin's previous pottery. The Swing shape itself is known for its rounded edges.
Other items (and dinner plates) in the Moss Rose Pattern (and also in Pink Organdy) are available in this shop. Please search Laughlin Moss Rose in this shop to see other matching items. At the time of this listing there are another Set of 4 Dinner Plates also available if you would like to have 8...or if you would like to have 6...
