This popular Homer Laughlin Pink Rose Pattern is usually referred to as Moss Rose though sometimes found under Calirose or Calarose.
This listing is for Four 6 1/8" Dessert (or Bread & Butter) Plates in Homer Laughlin's Eggshell 1940's Swing shape.
Each of these four plates are in Excellent Condition. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Only typical occasional marks found here and there. The centered blooming pink rose with rosebud is complemented by the pastel pink trim at their edge. This pattern is like the Pink Organdy pattern, also in Laughlin's Swing shape, with the addition of the pretty pink rose in the center.
The Swing Shape is in Homer Laughlin's Eggshell line. Laughlin's Eggshell dishes were created as thinner, more elegant dinnerware (more like china) than their previous pottery. The Swing shape itself is known for its rounded edges and for circular handles on the handled pieces.
The price is for four. Two of the bowls were manufactured in 1940 and their Laughlin Mark includes "Swing" while the other two indicate that by 1941 the makers mark dropped the inclusion of the word Swing and instead utilized the "Eggshell" claim to fame.
