This Antique Homer Laughlin mug or pitcher is in their Victorian shape named Mingo. A complete toiletry or chamber set was made in the Mingo shape that was offered in several floral and / or filigree patterns. This gold filigree pattern remains intact and the gold still has a reflective finish. This handled cup may have been used as a drinking mug, brush mug, or a shaving mug and presents with the crazing that most of the early toiletry sets are noted to have. No chips nicks or cracks are found but there is some light tanning or staining.
The bulbous part of the mug / pitcher has a scrolling embossed pattern. The top and base are scalloped and the handle curved and decorative.
The early HLC mark with "Homer Laughlin" printed beneath the logo is found on the bottom. It measures 3 7/8" tall and about 4 1/2" wide at the widest point.
You may wish to see Homer Laughlin toiletry / bathroom / commode / or chamber pot accessories in this shop.
