This lovely white and gold pattern is perfectly elegant and simply beautiful. This charming Hudson shape was one of Homer Laughlin's first and was initiated in 1908 and then discontinued in 1928. There were many designs and decals applied to this shape--this is a gold floral. As was common for Laughlin, the different designs (or patterns) in the Hudson shape went unnamed . As with most early ironstone pieces there are some minor blemishes under the glaze that came from the manufacturer.
There is crazing typical for the age of these pieces which adds to the charm of this large platter. The gold floral pattern remains predominantly intact. There is one chip on the edge which is shown in the photo between about 1 and 2 o'clock. This platter measures 14 1/2" x 11" and is rather heavy.
A smaller platter is also available and listed separately. Other pieces may be available, please feel free to ask.
