This Poppy & Rose design was introduced by Homer Laughlin in the 1930's and continued in production through the mid-1950's. This pattern is perhaps one of the most popular Laughlin designs beyond their Fiesta. Crooksville China also utilized this decal design.
This listing is for one cup and saucer in very good condition. Several designs of cups and saucer by Laughlin were made with this Poppy pattern. Their Kwaker, Ivora, and even the Virginia Rose shape can be found with these orange poppies and yellow roses with black leaves. This shape is mug-like and is one of the more uncommon. This particular cup has an irregular shape...almost oval at the mouth. It is 2 5/8" tall. No chips or nicks found and the bright floral pattern remains sharp.
The design of Orange Poppies, Yellow Roses, and Black Leaves by Homer Laughlin is informally known as "Poppy & Rose" by some collectors, "Olivia" by others, tagged as "Ivora" by some, and just labeled with a number "K4124" by others.
