Homer Laughlin's Swing shape included a Demitasse (Miniature or Individual size) Coffee Pot, Creamer, and an Open Sugar. This is the Individual size Coffee Pot in the Laughlin Swing Moss Rose. Unfortunately the little coffee pot no longer has its lid so it now works best as a pitcher, or for display, unless you happen to be a lucky owner of a top.
This popular Homer Laughlin design is known as Moss Rose by many collector's though it is also referred to by some as Calirose. The pretty blooming pink rose is accented by the pastel pink trim all on Laughlin's Eggshell Swing Shape. This shape was manufactured from 1938 to 1948. The "modern" design was known for its graceful circular finials and handles. The tableware is strong but yet thin and so was given the name "Eggshell". Perhaps the best known design in this shape was the Organdy Pastels. The Moss Rose is the Pastel Pink Organdy with the addition of the blooming rose design.
The 4" tall coffee pot has the circular handle common to the Swing Shape. Besides the missing lid, the pot is noted to have a small chip right at the pouring spout as shown. No other chips, nicks, or cracks noted. The price takes the imperfections into consideration.
Several matching pieces are also available in this shop (like the creamer and sugar shown in the last photo).
