This footed creamer in the Cardinal pattern by Cunningham and Pickett is in Excellent Condition. Originating from the Homer Laughlin Company under the Nautilus line, (see photo of under mark)--the creamer was then picked up by Cunningham & Picket for hand decoration which at least included the application of the 22KT Gold and possibly the application of the simple decorative red / orange flower pattern on the cream colored background. This Nautilus Shape offers the fancy handles and feet. The creamer is 6 1/4" from handle to spout and approximately 3 1/4" tall. The gold trim is in near mint condition with reflections in photos giving it a bit of a "disturbed" appearance that isn't accurate. There are no nicks, chips, cracks, or crazing noted. The double under mark carries the Cunningham Pickett name, the name of the pattern; Cardinal, the assurance that the piece is Hand Decorated, and the Warrented 22KT Gold Trim. The Homer Laughlin Pottery name is under the Cunningham mark identifying the shape as Nautilus, that it was made in the USA, and a factory and date code from the 1950's.
Homer Laughlin also manufactured this pattern aside from Cunningham Pickett under other shapes: Eggshell Nautilus (as opposed to just Nautilus), Georgian, and others.
