American Vogue awarded this pattern; Bristol by Homer Laughlin, a winning pattern in the 1940's. The periwinkle blue and pink flowers (possibly wild roses) are a stark contrast against the creamy ivory background of this Covered Eggshell Nautilus Serving Bowl. This covered dish is very near mint. There are no chips, the gold trim is about 99% intact, and the lovely floral design remains bright and beautiful. There is what appears to be a fine crack in the glaze only in the inside of the bowl (no staining or leakage). The area can only be detected when the bowl is wet and would not show in a photo. I have found no other problems. This rather rare covered serving bowl is a beautiful serving piece. The casserole is characteristic of the Eggshell Nautilus shape with the embossed and curling handles. It measures 11" across from the tip of each handle across the bowl.
