Platonite White dinnerware in the Ovide shape was produced by Hazel Atlas in the 1950's with fired on designs . This shape and several of the "Ovide Platonite with Designs" are pictured in Gene Florence's guide for Hazel Atlas (page 199) and also seen in Florence's ; "Depression Glass" (page 164 of the 16th edition).
This simple red and white floral design is very scarce. Over the years I have been able to collect enough to create two sets with a few pieces extra pieces like this bowl. All of the pieces in this shop offered in this design appear to be unused like this small berry or fruit bowl. The bowl is in immaculate, pristine condition. It is 4 3/4" across.
Please search Hazel Atlas Ovide in this shop to see other pieces in this pattern--including the set shown in the last photo.
Other red designs found on the Hazel Atlas Platonite White include a Red Bow Pattern, a Red Bird Design, a Red Tulip Pattern and more.
