...Think Pink...Think Spring...
This creamer and sugar are part of the Moderntone Pastels by Hazel Atlas. Hazel Atlas began its Moderntone line in the late 1930's in the "Ritz" (Cobalt) Blue. When the fired on pastel colors became available, they were made in this shell pink, a lighter pink, and then blue, yellow, and green. Most collectors then and today collect the rainbow of colors and use them together while others collect all of one color.
Both this Creamer and Sugar have the fired on pink exterior over the white Platonite finish that remains on the inside of both pieces. Hazel Atlas produced most of their Moderntone pieces in this white and pastel color scheme as well as in the solid pastels. The two can easily be intermingled. The finish on both this cream and sugar remains glossy and intact except for two small areas: there is a small gray smudge on one side creamer that is visible in the photos and a small area of paint loss on the rim. No other areas noted on either piece. There are a few of the common straw marks found from manufacture that are to be expected. There are no nicks, chips, or cracks found. There is a slight difference in the shade of pink of the pieces seen best in bright light.
If you prefer to purchase only the creamer, or only the sugar, please email the shop owner with your zip code and shipping will be calculated. The price will be $8 (plus shipping) if you prefer only either one of the pieces.
Other Moderntone pieces are also available in this shop and sold separately. If purchasing multiple items in this shop, your items can be combined to save you on shipping. The last photo shows examples of some of the other items available at the time of this listing.
