For most vintage mid century glass collectors, West Virginia Glass' Blendo is usually the first thought that comes to mind when seeing this colorful yellow frosted glass bowl with a shiny gold trim. Almost assuredly the bowl was made in West Virginia and most likely by the West Virginia Glass Company as it is usually attributed to. However, Hazel Atlas (also of West Virginia) also produced salad sets in the frosted colored glass with the same shape bowl. As it is not marked by the manufacturer it is difficult to prove but these are generally considered to be Blendo by West Virginia Glass..
Either way, this large mid century bowl is in Excellent Condition. The same large bowls were utilized for the Chip and Dip Sets as the Salad Sets. The cheerful and bright lemon yellow "frosting" begins at the base of the bowl and fades into clear glass about 2" from the top of the wide mouthed bowl. The bowl is 6" tall. It is 4 3/4" across the base and flares out to a full 10 3/4" at the top. The yellow coloring remains virtually intact with only one very small area of the color missing near the base. The gold trim around the top rim also remains intact and shiny. The large serving bowl is perfect for serving your favorite chips or snacks or the more healthy salad if preferred. There are no nicks, chips, or cracks.
The shipping cost will reflect the heavy weight of the glass bowl.
