This Golden Book features the story of the Lively Little Rabbit who runs away from a weasel and makes a new friend along the way . Published by Simon and Schuster, New York, 1943. The Hard Board Book is marked as a First Printing and copyright of 1943. Illustrated by Tenggren, Gustaf in color and black and white. (Later editions colorized all of the illustrations.)
The book is in Very Good Condition. The blue cloth spine is intact and the binding tight. With light edge wear and rubbing, the corners are bumped, rounded. A previous owners name is written inside the front cover, in the space provided, and someone placed check marks by some of the books listed on the back cover--all in pencil. Very little age tanning. No rips, tears, or serious soiling.
The Children's Handkerchief also carries the Golden Book name. and is also in Very Good Condition; no tears, holes or staining. It has been washed and ironed. The copyright on the fabric was caught in the rolled hem. The hankie features the same scene as the cover of the story book. These would make a nice addition to an Easter Basket or Easter Decorations.
