This vintage porcelain Cake Lifter (or Pie Server) has a light creamy ivory background with a gold filigree design. These were made by several potteries during the 1930's - 50's era with the 22kt gold filigree design and were often unmarked. Multiple similar designs in gold trimmed plates, platters, and other dinnerware were also produced by several pottery companies. Among the known manufacturer's were Homer Laughlin, WS George, Cambridge, Universal, Taylor Smith and the list could go on. The gold floral filigree design on this server shows wear but the server itself remains in otherwise fine condition. No chips, nicks, cracks or crazing found. Due to reflection, the shiny gilded surface and design are very difficult to capture in the photographs. The server measures 9" long x 2 1/2" at the widest point.
