In 1957, Vogue introduced this 10 1/2" fashion doll Jill as Ginny and Ginnette's older sister. This Jill Fashion Doll is in great condition and comes with a couple of outfits. She has slightly blushed cheeks, reddish blonde angel cut hair with a barrette on each side, and deep blue eyes. Her eyes open and close as they should, her knees bend, and she is flexible enough to sit as well. Jill's arms are a bit loose but will hold an upward position. She has one small dark spot noted on her right shoulder (see last photo). Jill is considered a "bent knee walker" and her head turns as she is walked. Jill carries her name, Vogue Dolls Inc., and "Made in USA" in raised letters on her back.
This lovely Jill comes with her favorite flowered pink print dress with matching ribbon hat (outfit #3168). Her tagged outfit is in Excellent Condition. Jill is wearing a pair of silky nylon panties (#3911) that are also in Excellent Condition and a slip that is quite functional though a bit fragile. She also has a pair of "Nylons" or "Stockings" that appear as new.
According to the Vogue Dolls Encyclopedia; Jill's outfits from 1959 are of the hardest to find. The black velvet strapless jumpsuit with gold lame' rick rack trim is one of those outfits. (#3236). This Velvet Jumpsuit is also in Excellent Condition. She is wearing her white furry stole (#7552) instead of her white shrug as shown in the Encyclopedia. The white stole has a rhinestone snap in the front which coordinates nicely with her rhinestone earrings.
Jill is living with other members of the Vogue Doll family in a smoke free environment.
