Back in the day when every Mom hung their family's clothes out to dry on a clothesline, a clothes pin bag was almost a necessity. Very often these were handmade and often, like this one, made to look like a toddler's dress from the era. When Mom hung the family's clothes out, many little girls followed along and either washed their doll's clothes or at least pretended to-- and hung them up to dry with special clothes pins for their Dolly.
This adorable 1950's clothes pin storage bag hangs from a padded clothes hanger which is not the original hanger but can be included. The bag is in Excellent Condition and was home sewn from cotton fabric. It appears as unused. The front presents as a sweet little girl's dress with a pleated skirt about the size of a 2T or 3T (Toddler). The "dress" top, as well as the bag, are the color of unbleached muslin and the "skirt" and trim are red gingham checked. The back shows the shape of the bag that is covered by the dress front. The bag is 16 1/2" long and 12 1/4" wide.
Included are two boxes of vintage "Dolly Pins." Each box contains 18 wooden clothes pins made to hang doll clothes or even as the box suggests can be used for delicates such as Lingerie, Stockings, or Handkerchief's. The vintage boxes and clothespins are also in Excellent Condition.
Pair this with a retractable clothesline in your laundry room and step back to the 1950's! OR... use it to keep other collectibles stored close at hand for example instead of storing clothes pins inside the bag, you might choose to use it to hold vintage letters, postcards, Valentines, or photos ...and then use the clothes pins to create a rotating display on a wire "clothes line"....OR, wherever your imagination takes you.
