This 5 Cup Pitcher is 6" tall and is part of the Red Cattails pattern sold by Sears in the 1950's.
Ready to be used--this pitcher remains in Very Good Condition and is clean inside and out!
The dishes in this pattern are frequently found with considerable chips, crazing and / or staining. This pitcher, however, only has very minimal crazing and that is mostly noted on the bottom. The base also has a few very small nicks and spots. (see photo).
The red and black cat tail design remains bright and intact on the creamy background. The red trim around the top and the stripe on the handle are also bright and intact. One side of the handle has an old worn chip (see 5th photo) and the other side of the handle has an uneven area under the glaze from manufacture but neither of these interfere with the integrity of the handle.
The stamp in gold on the base indicates that this pitcher is "Oven Proof" and one of the pieces sold by Sears Roebuck and Co. The Cat Tail design is identified within the gold mark and though the piece was made by Universal Cambridge Potteries, the Sears name takes precedence.
*A dinner plate in this pattern is also available in this shop at the time of this listing.
