From the 1950's to early 1960's this Bates Bedspread still has its sewn in tag for identification. It measures 78" x 99" and though that is the measurements for a Twin the bedspread also works with a bed skirt on a Full Size Bed. The bottom end of the bedspread is rounded and the top is straight across. Most of the colored squares have decorative raised stitching that gives the fabric a textured surface.
Still in good but not mint condition, the colors remain rich and no fading of the fabric is noted. The main colors include dark red, gold, beige, gray and brown. There are some pulled threads and one 1/2" x 1/2" thread bare hole that could be mended (see close up photo of area).
The bed spread remains functional as a light weight bed cover or can be useful as a cutter for the colorful vintage fabric.
