In Very Good Condition and presumed a First Edition, this Antique 1882 publication of Songs and Scenes of Faust was published by H.M. Caldwell Co.; New York and Boston. Illustrated from Designs by A. Liezen Mayer and AD. Lalauze with Engravings by George T. Andrew and others. Many of the numerous lovely illustrations and etchings are signed. The back, binding, and 1/3 of the front are cloth covered hard boards in red. The other 2/3 of the front cover is a hardboard Christmas Illustration with Holly, Berries, Mistletoe, and Bells. The illustrated cover makes this a lovely Christmas Gift for the Antique Book Collector. The book is titled in gilt on the front cover. The corners are bumped as to be expected. A minimal amount of wear is noted to the edge of the decorative hardboard front cover. A small amount of separation appears to be occurring near the center of the books pages, yet still all pages are stitched and remain fully intact and clean! No foxing and no marks found through out.
