This is a vintage U.S. Military issued Parka, Jacket or Coat that was issued to Soldiers during the Vietnam War Era. It is the original M-1951 style marked PARKA, EXTREME COLD WEATHER DSA100-75-C-0869 Outershell 50% Cotton 50% Nylon Vanderbuilt Shirt Co., Inc. and has instructions. This Parka shell is made of heavy duty material that is water and wind repellent. Parka has two front slash wool lined pockets with snap closure flaps for weather protection. It has a waist and bottom draw strings. It has a good heavy duty brass zipper along with storm closing snaps. It is 35" long in front. It is over-sized and will fit an Extra-Large size person with a Coat etc. underneath. The waist draw string area is approx. 64 inches around. From the center of the neck to the end of the sleeves measure 38 inches. It has the Fish Tail looking back bottom. The Liner markings are hard to read. I read MEDIUM Chest 37 to 41. The Liner is the older style Korean War Era M1951 Fishtail Parka Liner that was later replaced with the Quilted ones. The parka shell has a tear or wear area under the right sleeve that could use a patch and some stains. There is no hood. Both items were purchased together with the liner attached inside. They are well used with wear in good condition. The Medium Sized Liner is in very good condition while the shell has much wear, tear area (seen in the last picture) and stains. They are in the condition obtained.
