This antique Wood Block plane is marked on the front OGONTZ TOOLO CO. There also appears to be a 13. I found “Ogontz was a trade name used by The Sandusky Tool Co. The Sandusky Tool Company did business between 1869 and 1929. And made hand planes until 1900.” It measures approx. 16 inches long. The wood block is 2 ½ inches high and almost 3 inches wide. The blade measures 2 ¼ inches wide. The long blade piece is marked SANDUSKY TOOL CO. WARRENTEED CAST STEEL. The blade pieces have much rust and stains with a chipped blade that needs sharpening. The wood has a gouged bottom area, cracks, paint stains, stains, metal chips, rust and wear. The wood was cleaned and rubbed with lemon oil. It is well used for collecting, refurbishing, possible use or display.
