This old Pulley has a very worn side medallion marked UNION HARDWARE Torrington Conn. It is inscribed in the wood 7 COM. It has a hard wood frame with 3 steel pulleys along with a hanging hook. The steel pulleys are approx. 4 ½ inches across and appear to be for a rope up to 1 inch in diameter. The metal pulleys are 1 inch thick. The wood frame measures approx. over 7 inches high, 7” wide and 4 ¾ inches deep. The hook is 7 ¼ inches long. Overall it is over 15 inches long. It is used with wear, age wood crack, rust, stains and small chips. The markings are very hard to read. I found “BRIEF HISTORY OF THE UNION HARDWARE CO., Torrington, Connecticut: The Union Hardware Company began in 1864” and “by 1946, the company discontinued its vast line of hardware products to concentrate solely in the sporting goods area.” It is in the good usable condition obtained.
