This is an antique Louis XV sterling silver soup ladle made by the Whiting Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The pattern was patented in 1891. This ladle was sold by EA Knowlton Dry Goods in Minnesota. This pattern looks similar to Strasbourg, a later Gorham pattern but the Louis XV is much more complex.
MARKS: Whiting hallmark, Sterling, Pat.1891, E.A. Knowlton
CONDITION: Excellent; looks unused.
MEASUREMENTS: About 10 ½ inches long.
