This lovely antique hand painted porcelain chocolate set was made and decorated in Prussia by Beyer & Bock. The matched set consists of a tall chocolate pot along with 2 cups and saucers. The pieces have a shaded ground which transitions from white to peach and features purple/lavender violets and white cherry blossoms along with foliate decoration executed in shades of green. The flowers on the exterior of the cups and pitcher are accented in white enamel and the inside of the cups are finished with floral sprigs. The rims of the pieces are fluted with raised dots and carry a heavy layer of gilding. The angular handles are also gilded.
The chocolate set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. As hand finished pieces, there are some production related anomalies present in the decoration and minor wear to the gilding inside the collar of the chocolate pot which are mentioned for accuracy. The underside of the pot and cups bear the green Beyer & Bock crowned "B" mark along with the word "Prussia". The set weighs in at 2lbs 7oz and the measurements are as follows:
5" at the widest point of the body
4" across the foot
5.25" from the spout to the back of the handle
2" wide domed lid
2.5" across the mouth
1.5" across the foot
3.375" from the rim of cup to the edge of the handle
