This antique English sterling silver footed trinket dish has been made in the form of a scallop shell. The piece has three ball feet on the bottom to provide stability and a flat section at one end which can serve as a handle. The piece is perfectly sized to hold jewelry on your bedside table or dresser, or could serve as a small nut/candy/butter dish or ashtray.
The scallop shell dish is in good condition with no repairs and has not been monogrammed. As an antique item, the piece shows signs of age consisting of minor waviness/dents and other marks to the surface related to age and which do not detract from its appearance and are mentioned for accuracy. The dish measures 3.625" by 3.125" at its widest points and stands 0.75" tall to the rim. The surface of the handle is fully and properly hallmarked for makers Stokes and Ireland of Chester with a 1903 date mark. The dish weighs in at 33.3 grams.
