This 11.75" tall porcelain vase was made by the highly regarded Meissen Porcelain Manufactory of Germany. The vase has a classic cylindrical form with a high shoulder which transitions to a short neck with a flared rim. The piece is decorated in Meissen's iconic floral Deutsche Blume floral bouquet motif featuring a large realistic Parrot Tulip in yellow and pink plus nasturtium and morning glories. The back of the vase bears two blue and yellow floral sprigs along with associated foliage. The rim and foot are finished with shiny gilt bands.
This first quality Meissen vase is in excellent near mint condition with no damage. As mentioned above, the piece stands 11.75" tall and is approximately 6" across the shoulder. The foot is 4.125" from edge to edge. The underside bears the Meissen cobalt blue underglaze crossed sword mark along with the numbers "469/175" painted in red and the code "081S" impressed into the base.
This porcelain vase displays beautifully and would be a great addition to a grouping of Meissen items in the Deutsche Blume motif, or works equally well displayed on its own. A lovely decorative accent sure to add an elegant touch to your decor.
