This vintage hand blown Murano glass vase has a cornucopia form with a tightly coiled base and ruffled rim having crimped edges. The vase rests on a slightly domed foliate foot composed of gold fleck glass. The body of the vase features fine white latticino decoration alternating with ribbons of aqua glass which twist as they make their way up the body. The foot is made up of five leaf-shaped elements arranged in a starfish-like orientation which have defined veins on their surfaces.
The vase is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. As a mouth blown piece, it should be noted that there are production related irregularities present in the glass which include small air bubbles that are mentioned for accuracy. The vase stands 7.75" tall as measured to the uppermost part of the rim and is 4" by 2.5" across the widest points of the rim. The foot is 3.25" from edge to edge at its widest point. The piece weighs in at 9 oz.
This striking vase displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to an existing collection of vintage Murano art glass. An elegant find!
