This elegant turtle dove Tourterelle letter seal was made by renowned French crystal manufacturer, Lalique. Many of the company's designs have been heavily influenced by nature and mythological figures, with birds being a favorite subject. This striking piece features a dimensional preening turtle dove with detailed plumage which has been executed in satin crystal. The bird is perched on a clear circular plinth.

The letter seal is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The item stands 2.5" tall from the display surface to its uppermost point while the plinth itself is 1" in diameter. The piece is properly signed and as seen in photo 7, the area beneath the bird's tail bears an etched diamond point mark which reads "LALIQUE ® FRANCE".

This lovely Lalique turtle dove letter seal displays beautifully and would be a great addition to a Lalique collection, or works equally well as a stand alone decorative accent. A very pretty piece!
