Vintage Beta Sigma Phi ΒΣΦ Enameled 10k Yellow Gold and Seed Pearl Sorority Pin

This vintage Beta Sigma Phi sorority pin is composed of enameled 10k yellow gold and is adorned with small white seed pearls. The piece comes complete with a torch emblem - which is also decorated with pearls - that is attached to the oval badge by virtue of a fine link chain. This piece has been designed to remind Beta Sigma Phi members of the organization's principles each time she pins her badge and torch.

Beta Sigma Phi is a women's philanthropic and friendship organization founded in the early 1930's with thousands of members world wide. The sorority's first letter, Beta, stands for the Greek word meaning life. The second letter, Sigma, stands for the Greek word meaning knowledge and the third letter, Phi, stands for the Greek word meaning friendship. The three words "life, learning, and friendship" form the organization's motto while Beta Sigma Phi itself is symbolized by the torch of learning which burns with the flame of love.

The badge is in excellent condition with no removals or repairs. The back of the badge is marked "10K" along with the number "2530". The badge and torch are both fitted with fully functional rollover pin closures at the back. The oval badge measures .5" by .5" and the torch is .625" long. The chain connecting the components is 2" long.
