This exceptional American Brilliant Period cut glass tall centerpiece compote has .375" thick walls which have been decorated with a wheel cut pattern featuring large open Scottish thistle blossoms along with spiky foliage. The flowers and leaves are located along curvilinear vines finished with fine feather edge detail, giving the decoration a lovely silvery appearance. The bowl of the compote rests on a thick stem decorated with St. Louis panel cuts, a series of convex diamond shapes which provide an arresting optic effect. The rim and foot have a scalloped edge finished with deeply cut sharp sawtooth edges. Be sure to view the photos using the zoom function to best appreciate the intricate detail and level of skill that went into creating this piece - it is impressive.
