This diminutive antique Victorian pitcher is made of blue glass and has a flared body which gives way to a columnar neck. The neck is finished with a tri-fold rim with draped sides. The piece is decorated in an inverted thumbprint pattern, giving it an optic effect. The pitcher has a clear glass applied handle with a reeded design.
The pitcher is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks and shows little if any sign of use. It stands 4.625" as measured to the highest point of its rim. It is 4.25" from the back edge of the handle to the front of the spout and is 1.75" in diameter at the foot. The piece resembles pieces by Mt Washington Glass as well as those made by Phoenix and New England Glass. It weighs in at 8.6oz.
This 19th century pitcher displays beautifully and would be a great addition to a collection of fine Victorian art glass. Perfect for serving cream or milk, or works equally well as a decorative accent.
