I have other Talavera and “style of” pieces located elsewhere in my shop. Like Champagne which is only produced in Champagne, France, Talavera can only be produced in Puebla, Mexico. My pieces are “style of” or Talavera each listing gives details distinguishing which is which.
NOTE: Authentic Talavera pottery only comes from the city of Puebla in Mexico and the nearby communities of Atlixco, Cholula, and Tecali, because of the quality of the natural clay found there and the tradition of production which goes back to the 16th century. Artists must paint the pieces by hand, using only the prescribed colors: blue, green, yellow, red, brown, and black, although mixing these colors with blue to form orange and purple is acceptable.
