Who doesn't remember Dick and Jane! This wonderful book was published by Scott, Foresman and Company and has a copyright date of 1948.
On the inside front and back covers there is the typical printed school book notation saying this book is the property of the State of Texas, lines for the child to write his/her name and the date that the book was issued and returned. It says "Pupils must not write on or mark any page of this text book" and then notes that the contract for this book begins on Sept. 1, 1950 and ends on Aug. 31, 1956.
This book is in very nice vintage condition. The cover has only slight wear of the color at the corners, with no wear to the fabric. The binding is tight and the pages are all clean with only a few minor exceptions. Looks like someone spilled coffee or some drink next to the book and is soaked into the bottom corners of many of the pages, leaving a light brown mark. On some pages is is very slight with the maximum being the size of one-half a dime. There is some other slight soil that one often finds in vintage books. I would still consider this vintage book in very good condition.
There is a guide for teachers in the back that states that Happy Days with Our Friends is the first Health and Personal Development book of the Curriculum Foundation Series. The book has 95 numbered pages and is just full of wonderful Dick, Jane, Sally, Spot, etc. illustrations. This book is a really nice find for the serious collector.
