This revere painted silhouette is called "The Children's Hour" a poem by Longfellow. The poem is printed on the back of the silhouette.
The scene depicts a Mother sitting in front of the fire reading to her son. There is a thermometer at the left side of the picture. There is a pull out space at the bottom for a small calendar, but the calendar is not present.
This silhouette measures 5" x 4 1/4". It has a metal frame with nice detail. Both are in very good vintage condition. There is a small water stain that only shows on the back.
Keep an eye on my shop. I will be adding a large collection of silhouettes.
