This up close view of the Liberty Bell so striking! The bell is displayed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where many other relics are also on display. The card tells us that the Bell is what attracts most attention from visitors.
The back of the card gives us a history of the Bell. In 1835 the bell was rung at the funeral of John Marshall, the great Chief Justice of the United States. During that tolling the huge crack was made. It has only been rung a few times since 1843.
This view is in excellent condition with the only blemish of any kind being a small circular area at the upper right corner of the back of the card where a small tag was apparently pulled off.
This will be a great addition to any Stereo View collection!
