This 1958 Maxton Book of Favorite Poems for Young People is full of delightful poems selected by Mary I. Strang. The book is illustrated by Chesley D'Andrea. In the preface Strang talks about selecting poems written for children and about children.
Some of the poems included are: "Father William"; "The Owl and the Pussy-Cat"; "Laughing Song"; "The Puzzled Centipede"; "A Song About Myself"; "My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose". The book measures 10-1/4" x 7-1/4" and is in very good vintage condition. There is some wear to the top and bottom of the spine and the corners of the cover. A little of the cellophane (used to seal the cover) is chipping. The pages are all clean, without tears, and unmarked--in exceptionally good condition. How delightful it will be to sit and read these poems with a child or grandchild.
I will be happy to combine purchases to save on shipping costs. International orders are always welcome.
